The Daekyo Culture Foundation (headed by Chairman Young-joong Kang) invites
recommendations of nominees for the 18th Noonnoppi Education Awards until May 31 to promote
model teachers and boost their morale.
The 18th Noonnoppi Education Awards will be given to 8 exemplary educators in elementary,
secondary, special, preschool, and lifelong education sectors. Current teachers and educational
administrators with at least 10 years'' experience will be eligible for nomination. Each successful
candidate will be honored with an award, a plaque, and a KRW 20-million check.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Noonnoppi Education Awards have recognized 121
educators
with an extraordinary sense of mission in the education of future generations especially with
regard to improving classroom education, providing humanity education through social services,
and supporting cultural activities. The 18th Noonnoppi Education Awards will accept
recommendations until May 31, 2009 and announce the result of its 4-month-long review of the
recommendations on October 12, 2009. The recommendation form and details of this event are
