The Daekyo Culture Foundation (president: Young-joong Kang) will hold the 2010 Korea Olympiad for Gifted Students on October 9 (Sat.) to discover early and foster creative talents. The 2010 Korea Olympiad for Gifted Students is held by Daekyo with the Korea Society of Mathematical Education and Korea Association for Science Education and sponsored by NHN and Chosun Newspaper for Kids. As the largest Olympiad in Korea, the 20th Korea Olympiad for Gifted Students is designed to promote qualitative improvement in the national education evaluation system and education for young talents. Participants are limited to third ~ eighth graders recommended by the principal, students and graduates of an institution for gifted talents operated by a university or an office of education, and prize winners of the free national mathematics/science contest. This event consists of two divisions: mathematics and science. Students garnering high grades will receive the Grand, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Consolation Prizes. Winners of the Grand and Gold Prizes in each division will have the opportunity to participate in the overseas camp during the summer vacation.
