The Daekyo Culture Foundation (chairman: Young-joong Kang) donated 260,000 bottles of deep sea water to 15 Si (city) and Gun (county) areas of the nation where damage is expected because leachate has flown out after animals were destroyed due to foot and mouth diseases. All officers and employees of the Daekyo Group have raised funds by saving lunches, purchased 260,000 bottles of “Millennium” deep sea water worth KRW 440,000,000, and delivered them to the regions of the country affected by the leachate. The “Millennium” water was drawn up from the sea bottom 605m deep in the front sea of Goseong, Gangwon-do, a clean sea; it is totally safe from pollution caused by foot and mouth diseases. Until February 25, all officers and employees including Chairman Young-joong Kang of the Daekyo Culture Foundation have visited 15 Si and Gun areas including Eecheon-si and comforted regional residents after holding the deep sea water delivery ceremony. “Many farming households have suffered due to foot and mouth diseases; and now, we have to worry about the health of common citizens. I feel sorry that we cannot even drink water with a sense of safety. We decided to donate deep sea water, based on a sense of duty that we should provide clean water at least to pregnant women and children. In the future, we will continue to make efforts to restore damage caused by foot and mouth diseases,” said Chairman Young-joong Kang. Meanwhile, Daekyo has also donated 100,000 bottles of deep sea water last January to Paju-si, Wonju-si, and Hwacheon-gun, which were affected by leachate.
